What do you do when life takes over and clouds your thoughts? When the weight of the world seems to be laying on your shoulders? You can go to the edge of the earth, and look out at the endless sky, and let those heavy thoughts set with the sun.

Daddio and his girls all took to the road this Father's Day weekend. We drove and drove down the Pacific Coast Highway, until we reached heaven. We found the perfect little spot well past Big Sur...I have never seen any place more beautiful in my entire life. Perfection. It's an odd feeling, to look out over the clouds and know that there is an ocean full of life underneath.

It was Father's Day, but I feel like I was the one given the gift. I got a chance to see Miss M. at 2 1/2 enjoying this Earth as it was meant to be enjoyed. Playing in the dirt, hunting for Heffelumps, finding Tweedle Beetles. The sun was still shining, even after it set... I can still feel the warmth of that trip, when I kiss her cheek.

The dogs, too, had the time of there lives.

Sometimes you just have to take it back to nature to see the true beauty of life all around you. Even now, 3 days later, and I still feel so empowered, so special. I can't believe that all it took was one look out over that cliff, one drive down the coast, one look at the smiles on the faces of those that mean everything to me.

When we begin to forget, when life starts crowding us, when it all just feels too heavy. We'll know what to do.

Do you have a place that you love? Someplace that just makes you feel better, no matter what you have going on at home?
